More About Activities of ‘Tahuko’ Foundation in SF Bay Area:
Founders of tahuko foundation Jayshree & Amit also are founding members of the local Bay Area Volunteers organization ‘DAGLO’ (Desi Americans of Gujarati Language Origin), and have actively participated in putting together many successful gujarati sugam sangeet and literature related programs with local and visiting artists in Bay Area since 2008, including hosting visiting artists like Kavi Shree Chinu Modi, Raeesh Maniar, Vivek Tailor and Mona Naik.
In Sept 2012, Tahuko Foundation hosted renowned artists – Shyamal-Saumil & Aarti Munshi and Tushar Shukla for a successful two day musical extravaganza via evens ‘Masti Amasti’ & ‘BaarMaasi Vaibhav’.
In May 2013, Tahuko Foundation independently hosted renowned Gujarati Singer and Composer – Amar Bhatt – to celebrate our mother tongue on Mother’s Day! (Mali Maatrubhasha Mane Gujarati)
Currently, Tahuko Foundation is working on its first fundraising event – to be hosted at ICC on Sept 14, 2013, with the theme based Gujarati Sugam Sangeet Program.
We plan to continue to bring visiting Artists – poets/writers/singers/musicians from India and abroad including within US and organize authentic programs for the Gujarati audience here in Bay area. Another chapter of the same plan is to continue to organize musical programs utilizing the local musical talents. The upcoming program in September is the first one of this kind.
